In 1985 a second Cafe Du Monde was opened by the Fernandez Family in a suburban shopping mall, The Esplanade Mall. The Esplanade is located in Kenner, Louisiana fifteen minutes from Downtown New Orleans.
In 1986 a third Cafe Du Monde was opened in the Rouse Co.'s Riverwalk Marketplace. The Riverwalk is located on the Mississippi River next to the New Orleans Convention Center.
Now there are a total of eight Cafe Du Monde Coffee Stands in the New Orleans Metropolitan area. They are located in the French Market, Esplanade Mall, Riverwalk Mall, Lakeside Mall, Oakwood Mall, Mandeville, Covington and 4600 Veterans Boulevard.
